Well, November has been so exciting! Here’s what we’ve been up to this month… Our hedgehogs Herbert and Hazel out and about on a lantern parade bonfire night for Heart of BS13 followed by awesome special fire show bonfire night in the most beautiful and amazing spot to see fireworks across Bristol city at the newly developed Heart of BS13 Roundhouse. We also performed our new sassy gold and black showgirls at a Club night event in Bristol. The Christmas festive events have begun, and we had Cirque Da Purr Aerial Lollipop, act circus themed stilt walkers, a juggler, a compere and a magician out at a corporate gala event in Manchester. We’ve been performing with the beautiful Corvus Angelicus Angels across the country in Dalton Park and Barnsley for Christmas Lights Switch on events. Our stilt walking elves were spreading festive fun and joy to the streets of Bath for the Bath Lights Switch on event and in Port Talbot too. We still have availability for Christmas 2021 dates. Autumn is here! The nights are drawing in which means that the night time events have begun! We had a lovely evening performing with Corvus Angelicus company at Worcester Light Night in October. It was so beautiful and people where spellbound by the amazing LED Stilt Angels. Do get in touch if you want to book this amazing Glow Angel Act with specially composed music. We did it ! We made the brand new eco themed walkabout Hedgehog costumes... They are all made out of recycled and scrap materials. Huge thanks to West of England Combined Authority for awarding us the WECA creative freelancer grant for this project and a special thanks to Steph puppets Walkabout mice Astra Beck Teph Bingham and Kia Pettifer for helping to make them and Arts Mansion for use of their space! We performed for Sustainable Fashion Week Fashion Show guests at Future Leap and they went down a treat! This new environmental walkabout act can be booked for all nature or climate themed events and venues. We have had a great summer and been enjoying making people happy at all sorts of events including University of Bristol’s Student Welcome week. We even made it onto BBC Points West - at 12 minutes into their headlines! We have also been performing bubbles and balloon modelling for a Family Fun Day and performed The Cake Ladies and our new stilt Cheeky Chef’s act at Oswestry Food Festival. We are now busy taking bookings for Halloween and Christmas events. We have lots of Halloween and Christmas themed circus entertainment. This week we spotted an article from the Guardian newspaper about a 67 year-old lady who has just starting learning trapeze. Nikki Kenward initially trained in contemporary dance, and after retiring from dance teaching, performing, and giving talks on dance history, she retrained in her 40’s as a cranial osteopath. Now, at 67, she is studying on master’s degree in directing circus with Bristol Circomedia, she wants to create diverse and inclusive performances. In the world of the circus  ‘anything goes and anything is possible’. Everyone can get involved in circus whatever age you are! Read more about this here. Our amazing circus performers and circus skills workshop leaders have been busy at events and schools this month.They taught circus skills workshops for Myton School in Warwick for Transition year 6’s. We finally got our fire show kit out and performed a special fire performance for a surprise private 50th birthday party in Bristol, complete with flaming heart and a bespoke 50 fire sculpture! The wonderfully colourful butterfly stilt walkers were out in Bath City Centre as part of BATH BID family summer Sunday’s programme. We have an action packed September ahead and will be performing stilt walking, juggling for Student Freshers week at Bristol University and balloon modelling and bubble shos in Cheltenham and family events and you can catch The Cake Lady stilt walkers at Oswestry Food Festival too. We are taking bookings for spooky circus entertainment and fire shows and fire performers for Halloween and bonfire night celebrations atm!
